• Like almost all romance readers, I adore Jane Austen and reread her books frequently. I was a bit hesitant about this book because I really don't enjoy the modern versions of her books. I only read this today, in one sitting. I loved it. I cautiously read Ms Adams disclaimer at the beginning so I was forewarned. I wasn't prepared for how much I loved it. The h is a young and competitive woman who works in antiques. She lives with her sister Jane) in a condo forming part of Pemberley House. The H moves back to town after his father dies so he can help in mother, also in the antiques business. The H moves in with Charlie, which just happens to be next door to Jane and the h. The H is initially silent, arrogant and a mystery to the sunny and open Jane. Things progress but eventually there is drama.
  
  I was surprised at some of the elements that are similar to Pride and Prejudice but it was so cleverly done. I loved this book (repeating myself) and can highly recommend it.
• I didn't find the story believable because I didn't understand the attraction between the two main characters. I gave it two stars because I love the premise of two competitors falling in love. The lack of any more stars is because their reasons for falling in love weren't clear. Other than spending a small amount of time together and lots of time in the bedroom, sex seemed to be the only thing they based their love on. Basing love on sex just isn't believable. Maybe I missed it in the book. Honestly, I just didn't like this book. However, I have read many of her other books, and I do like many of them, so I will continue to read her works.
• I love this author. Her writing style is consistent and characters do a lot of internal thinking but I love the realistic portrayal of her male characters. They actually think about things other than sex!! This was cute but not really close to the Jane Austen book it was so loosely inspired by.
• This P&P inspired romance pays homage to Austen’s classic, but it’s definitely a modern romance that bumps up the heat. Liz and Vince’s sparring sparks a secret relationship that neither one is ready to admit may mean much more. A truly enjoyable read that leaves one looking forward to the next in the series.
• This was a wonderful introduction to another wonderful series of books by Noelle. I can't wait to get to read the rest of the series!

• I’ve never met a Noelle Adams book that I didn’t like. And this one was no different.
  
  Competative by nature, Liz’s job makes her doubly so. It is up to her to claim and purchase the very best items available at estate sales. She studies the inventory in advance, checks the layout of the property/home, and devises a plan of attack once she enters the door. But her main strategy is to be number one at the door before it begins. When she has a couple of paintings that she absolutely must aquire, she is aggravated to find a man already waiting at the door. And if that weren’t bad enough, the outcome of their race to the paintings is.
  
  After the death of his father, Vince has returned home to help his mother with the business. It’s not really where he wants to be but he recognizes what needs to be done and follows through. Wiith his mother’s instructions clear, he arrives to the estate on time when the most unexpected thing happens. And what happens afterwards is flat out…annoying.
  
  I absolutely loved watching this couple meet and remeet. Each subsequent meetings was fun and cute and filled with rife and unspoken emotion. Neither Liz nor Vince could discern their feelings and it resulted in some entertaining moments between them. When they begin to make a move closer to each other, I waited anxiously to see where and how they were going to find their happy ever after. They were both just so clueless at times, in a most endearing way.
  
  However, when the conflict arises, I have to admit my heart hurt. Badly. I don’t want to give away who said and did what, but the end result was that both Liz and Vince were suffering from heartache and there really didn’t appear to be a clear way out. But I must confess that I choked up over Vince’s heartache. He had never allowed himself to feel anything and now he was feeling way too much. My own heart ached for him.
  
  This is a fast paced read, as all of Ms. Adams’ books tend to be. It is filled with humor and witty banter, great characters that are well developed as well as the secondary characters, some of who will get their own book. Despite this not being a long book, this has a slow burn but when this couple finally catch flame, it is a bonfire.
  
  Overall, this is the type of read that you sit back and enjoy without worry that anything is going to make you want to throw your kindle, at least not too badly, and assures you of the sweetest type of ending.
